About Sutton County Criminal History

Sutton County criminal records are split among the combined County and District Clerk, the Sheriff's Office and jail in Sonora, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. This private reference site organizes those separate routes so readers can identify the proper official portal, counter, or phone line without treating one source as a complete criminal history.

Why We Built This Site

Texas records access is organized by custodian, so the correct source depends on the question. The Sutton County Sheriff's Office holds sheriff-created reports and local booking information, while County and District Clerk Pam Thorp maintains filed misdemeanor and felony case records at the Annex. Texas DPS operates the statewide conviction name search and fingerprint-based personal review. TDCJ maintains sentenced state-custody information, and DPS also manages the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. We bring the verified contacts, official search routes, documented fees, and request steps for these systems together in one Sutton County resource.

What You Will Find Here

  • Agency contacts: verified routes to the Sutton County clerk, Sheriff's Office, jail, and Texas record systems
  • Official check instructions: how Texas DPS name searches differ from fingerprint-based personal record reviews
  • Record guides: how to search and understand Sutton County criminal court cases
  • Record relief information: how Texas expunction and nondisclosure differ and where local court filings begin

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, not part of a Texas court, the Sutton County Sheriff's Office, a police department, or a state agency. Its role has firm limits:

  • We cannot provide certified court documents, rap sheets, or official criminal records
  • We cannot submit an expunction petition, nondisclosure request, or records request for a visitor
  • We cannot interpret how a Texas law, charge, warrant, or case applies to a specific person
  • We cannot perform an official background check or retrieve a record on anyone's behalf
  • We cannot promise that an agency's hours, address, fee, or phone number has not changed

An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the Sutton County clerk, the Sheriff's Office, or Texas DPS. This site can identify the route, but it cannot issue the document.

Search Partners

Third-party providers power search boxes that appear on some pages. Each provider controls its service, results, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports free access to this site. We do not set the provider's charges or decide which information appears in its results.
